Alexa Guard went live today according to CNET, but will gradually roll out to the United States. Alexa Guard is a new feature announced in September 2018, which scans certain frequencies for sounds like breaking glass to detect break ins within your home and alert you. The feature also scans for fire alarms to alert you of a fire. The feature only works, however, when you let Alexa know you’re leaving by voice command. The feature also works with systems like the Ring Alarm and some ADT Home Security systems, as Alexa does not call 911 or your equivelant emergency services.
