Today, Google has released version 79 of the Chrome web browser. The browser update added new features like tab freezing, a new user interface for the Chrome profile menu and AR (Augmented Reality) support through the WebXR API. It also added security features like integrated data breach notifications with Google accounts, something that previously required Google’s extension on the Chrome Web Store.

Google Chrome’s latest update deprecates TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1, protocols that will eventually be removed by January 2021. On Windows and macOS, the update can be downloaded and installed by going to chrome://about page or clicking the dropdown menu, help and then About Google Chrome. If you use a mobile device, the update can be downloaded and installed by going to the Google Play Store, the iOS App Store or your respective app store.
